From Young Sik Eom

I think this is one of the best trip I ever had in my life. I loved to devote myself for the others even it was physically hard. I loved to interact with others too!

Editor's Note: now that the trip is over the team leaders all agree that Young Sik did well and worked hard this week. We are proud of all that the team accomplished.

They are enjoying some well deserved rest and relaxation now. Snorkeling tomorrow/Tuesday morning.

From Gibby Pena

Hi ma! Don't worry. I'm drinking water and not reusing underwear. I may be sunburned though. (I'm sorry) everything is fine here. Ang init Lang. <-- see I'm speaking Tagalog. I'm speaking lots of Tagalog on this trip so don't be surprised to see if I'm blacker than usual and speak differently. Miss you guys!

Editorial Note: And he made a three pointer against the Filipino Malay (the city nearby) bball team. No small feat!

Boracay is so beautiful. The sky is clear at night and you can see all the stars. Everyone is lively and full of spirit. We are truly blessed to be here and there's so much joy, not just in our senior class but also the Boracay people and the Ati people.

Editorial comment:  the team leaders have no idea how to interpret that.

From Ryan Pan

Hi.....uhmmmmm.......yeah that's about it.

Editorial comment :) : Ryan will make a great engineer. A man of hard work and few words. He's done very well this week.

From Amos Chi

Hi whoever chances upon this random block of text which can occasionally express coherent thought but may not do so this time in case you hoped for it. Last day of www today, which means fun awaits, I guess. Not sure how enthusiastic I should be, but I feel like this was fully ramblomatic for long enough to warrant this post. Stay happy peoples, I think. Also, help me because Ruslan is looking at me funny.

From Eugene Koo

This trip has certainly been the most eye opening out of any Week Without Walls trip I have been on. Walking through villages and doing feedings gets you up close and personal with the Ati people's condition and lets you realize the poverty some of these people are in. And yet at the same time, they are all happy and content, always smiling and willing to offer what little they have. It makes you think, you know? It's sad it's our last day on our service trip, but I'm sure many of us have been inspired and rekindled.

From Ken Leong

Today is our first day of senior trip and I'm so glad that we get to relax. We have been working hard for the past few days so we all need a good rest. I can't believe this is our last trip :(

Our Sunday

Our basketball team...playing high in the hills of Panay Island with an Ati / Pinoy Group.  They are ethnically mixed. The students had a lot if fun swimming in a river and, some of them, jumping from a rock that was about 3 meters or so above the water. The water was amazingly clear and refreshing. The swimming was followed by a time of bball and making oragami from long blades or stalks of one of the plants that grows in the area.  A great time. The day began with a church service at Malay Gospel Baptism Church.

From Andre Whatley

Everyone is doing a great job serving the people here and serving Christ through labor and integrating with the less fortunate.

From Monica Kim

I played basketball with the guys and some of the Ati. I'm glad I got to actually play because these locals are really really good at 'ballin. It was awesome at the lake too. I pretended that I was Pocahontas while I jumped around on the rocks but then I slipped so that was the end of my fantasies. Overall a good day.

Team Update

This is the last day of the service part of our tripp. We are all doing well and had a great last day.  We will shift to the hotel tomorrow.  Thanks for your prayers.

From Josh Sullivan

Greetings from Boracay, this is Josh speaking, we've all been having a good time. Yesterday was the last day for construction, and I can say I am glad. The work was hard and was a good struggle. I am still sore from carrying buckets of dirt and rocks uphill a 100 meters. Aside from this I can say that I enjoyed every moment of it. Thinking about the people I was helping and the God I was serving helped motivate me to give it my all! I am satisfied with the work I have done there. Missing my family, and can't wait to see you in Aus dad! Over and out.

From Jaewon Choi

It has been a challenge for me to open myself to others during this trip. Everyone here has been kind and helpful in many ways. People have been showing their efforts helping other team members and the locals. I will miss these people after week without walls.

From EJ Yandoc

Been having a good week of work and bonding. Regardless of how tiring it might be, I am happy to see everyone work well together and still be safe. Really is an experience I won't forget.

From An Jiang Ong-Garcia

Hola papa, mama, y Abel,
I'm having a really great time with my compañeros. Thank you for letting me go. Being here has been an even greater blessing because of this. Yesterday we worked at a school for the Ati people and I got to see a cultural dance they were rehearsing. I was so happy to be with the kids and know that the work we are doing will be useful to generations later of the children. They had two graduates this year. Speaking of graduates, I am also blessed to be spending time with my class; we went to the beach the other day and the stars were so beautiful.
Los amo,
An-Jian

From Malcolm Hillier

Hi Dad, I'm doing well. So far we've helped build a school for a group of indigenous people here. It's been a very tiring process but I think its definitely worth it. We're only staying for the week without walls part of the trip for a few more days, then were starting our starting the senior trip part. Until then, I'll see you soon. Bye!

From Taran Estad

Please don't worry. I'm still alive and I haven't spent too much money.  And Amber don't worry because I'm not having too much fun. And, have I gotten into uni yet.

Editorial note from the team leaders ...Taran is a bit "slap happy" now.  She's tired but having a great time despite what she says.  This just in, from Taran, "the stars are really pretty...and I love you "

From Milda Daminaite

Mom, do you remember how you told me to spend my money wisely?  Today I spent $10 for fried bananas. I love you.

From Migo Misa

I am two shades darker but I am really buff. I love you both.  :*

From the Team Leaders

They are all doing well. You would be very proud of your kids' efforts this week so far.

We are off to an Ati village to help build a school tomorrow  and then to the mountains for a hike to a stream and a waterfall.

We are off to a team meeting. We need to go.  Thanks for your prayers.

From Ian Dooley

Its been pretty fun doing construction and hanging out with everyone. The foods really good too.

From Tan Li Xuan

Construction is seriously intimidating.  Nonetheless, there are psoitive things about this trip as well. The little kids are cute...

From Tabitha Graves

There have been a lot of special moments with the people on our team and the sweet locals! And of course, a lot of hardwork and sweat! God is still good ;-) it's a joy to serve. Just like Paul, we are learning to press on!

From Hannah Lee

The kids are great. I miss umma's kimchi!

From Anonymous

One of the many memorable lines from students so far. We told them 10 PM is lights out or else they are fined 30 pesos /one dollar (it goes to the ministry). We had two fine two girls. A third stepped up to defend them. She said, in all seriousness, "but I thought you were speaking metaphorically when you said lights out at 10 PM."  Good try but that won't cut it.

From Justin Navalta

The kids here are so fun to play with. They are energetic, climb all over us, and just good to be around. The work is very hard but worth it because its all for the people here. Its really good to accomplish something that will last and make a difference in people's lives.

Team-general

Everyone is healthy. A minor scrape or two but nothing serious.  Thanks for your prayers.

From Kelly Yuen

Its such a fiffer not experience...all the seniors together has been really good. Its been fun to get to know people outside of school.  For me, the highlight was singing while working in a line, passing blocks and pales of sand for concrete on the third floor of the ministry center that they are building.

From Liam Riley

I stole my fellow Australian's (Josh) cake. I am getting really in shape from all the work.  The people are amazing and I've enjoyed helping them so far.

Summary of Today

You can be proud of all your students. They worked VERY hard today with a joyful and positive attitude. We got a lot done and they did it oh so well.
